Vision + Brand Story

Dream Event is part of Dream Escape, founded in 2005 by David Tobin and Holly Mackie with a shared ambition to create something quietly exceptional — experiences that are personal, thoughtful, and executed with absolute precision. What began as their vision has grown into a trusted brand, supported by a specialist team spanning marketing, design, and operations.

Today, that philosophy extends beyond travel. Dream Event is the group’s dedicated events division, operating as a distinct business with its own identity, structure, and strategic direction. Led by Head of Events Karen Murray, Dream Event brings together deep expertise and a clear commitment to produce corporate and specialist events with the same care, creativity, and attention to detail that define Dream Escape.

With more than 175 years of combined expertise across the wider Dream Escape group — including Dream Insight and Dream Escape Magazine — the business continues to set the standard for luxury experiences across the UK and Ireland, with the capability and ambition to deliver on an international stage.

David Tobin

Founder & CEO

David Tobin is a leading marketing and luxury travel expert with over 25 years’ experience shaping global brands and highimpact experience strategies. His career includes senior roles at ITV, Saatchi & Saatchi, Carat, and MediaCom, where he oversaw major accounts exceeding £1 billion in annual billings. As founder of Dream Escape and Dream Event, David is recognised as a Condé Nast Top Travel Specialist, a Travel + Leisure AList Advisor, and recipient of Brownell Travel’s MVP Excellence Award. With deep insight into affluent traveller behaviour, VIP events and experiential luxury, he excels in strategic event vision, brand storytelling, and experienceled concepts, making him a trusted partner for hotels, resorts, and destinations seeking to elevate their event presence
